The Congress brings together scholars and experts in the social sciences and humanities to discuss Belarusian history, politics, society and culture within European and international contexts. Since 2011, the Congress has been the only place in the world where such a significant number of Belarusian academics and social leaders can discuss topics related to Belarus freely and independently of the influence of the Belarusian authorities and other states. Out of over 500 applications received this year, around 450 people were accepted, and we expect approximately 350 of them to participate in person. The Congress consists of 13 research sections covering the main areas of the social sciences and humanities, including history, international relations, political science, sociology, linguistics, literary studies, and more.
