Variation in Language Corpora

International Autumn School Berlin, 25-27 October 2018

The autumn school "Variation in Language Corpora" funded by the project CENTRAL brings together internationally renowned experts in corpus linguistics and register analysis in order to instruct students and young researchers on the topics

 

  • linguistic analysis of register
  • register in a cross-linguistic perspective, specifically in Czech and Polish
  • variation in digital corpora, including register, historical and dialectal variation
  • quantitative methods in corpus linguistics and stylometry

Participants can apply for giving a very short (3-minute) presentation of their ongoing research in a gong show, to be discussed in-depth subsequently.

 

Participation is free of charge, but registration by 15 October 2018 is mandatory.

 

Students from universities in the CENTRAL network (ELTE Budapest, Charles University Prague, University of Warsaw, University of Vienna) can apply for a travel stipend.
